Tara Boghosian

ASSOCIATE

Tara is an associate at Henein Hutchison Robitaille LLP, practicing primarily criminal and regulatory litigation at both the trial and appellate levels, as well as select civil litigation. She has also worked on institutional investigations and was part of the Ottawa Light Rail Transit Commission Team.

 

She received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School. There, she was recognized for completing more than 2000 hours of pro bono work, including with the Prison Legal Assistance Project and International Human Rights Clinic. She also contributed research to the Criminal Justice Policy Program. She has authored or co-authored work published by the Yale Journal of Health Policy, Law, and Ethics; OnLabor blog; Law and Political Economy Project; and Oxford Handbook of Economic and Social Rights.

 

During and after law school, Tara worked in the U.S. at the National Center for Law and Economic Justice, Bronx Defenders, and a workers’ rights firm. She received her B.A. from McGill University, graduating with multiple academic awards.

 

Tara has spoken and conducted trainings on criminal law topics internally and for other organizations. She is a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association, Armenian Bar Association, and Toronto Lawyers’ Association (where she sits on the Criminal Committee). She also serves on the Board of Directors of Neighbourhood Legal Services.

 

Called to the Ontario bar in 2022; called to the Massachusetts bar in 2021.
