David Postel

David is an associate at Henein Hutchison Robitaille LLP, where he handles a wide range of contract, employment, estates, and tort-related litigation. David has represented clients in arbitrations, in Superior Court (including matters on the Commercial List), and in appeals at the Court of Appeal. His recent work has focused on defamation and anti-SLAPP proceedings, business and partnership disputes, and professional responsibility matters.
Outside of his daily practice, David has published articles on legal writing, civil procedure, and the intersection of baseball and litigation. David also periodically volunteers with Pro Bono Ontario and serves as judge for student moot court competitions.
David’s peers in the legal profession voted for him to be included in the Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” list for 2025.
Prior to joining HHR in May 2019, David was an associate in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins, where his practice was focused on complex commercial litigation and class actions.
David earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 2016. At Michigan, David was a student attorney in the Criminal Appellate Practice clinic and a senior judge in the Legal Practice Program, which involved mentoring first-year students on legal research and writing.
Before law school, David graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from DePaul University, where he was selected Most Outstanding Senior by the political science faculty. David grew up in Cleveland, Ohio.
David is a member of The Advocates’ Society and a proud member of the Toronto Lawyers Association.
