Garima Karia

ASSOCIATE

Garima is an associate at Henein Hutchison Robitaille LLP and practices both criminal and civil litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Garima clerked for Justice Nicholas Kasirer of the Supreme Court of Canada. She completed her articling term as a bilingual judicial law clerk to four judges of the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Garima received her J.D. and B.C.L. from McGill University, where she graduated on the Dean’s Honour List and was awarded the Principal David L. Johnston Medal for distinguished academic standing and contribution to the Faculty. She also holds a graduate B.C.L. from the University of Oxford, where she wrote her dissertation in comparative criminal law.

During law school, Garima was an editor of the McGill Law Journal and a research assistant in the areas of private, tax, and constitutional law. She also completed a student clerkship at the Court of Appeal of Québec and interned with the Yukon Human Rights Commission in Whitehorse. Prior to law school, she studied political science and history, also at McGill.

Garima is fluent in English and French.
