Jessica Proskos

ASSOCIATE

Jessica Proskos is an associate at Henein Hutchison Robitaille LLP, where her practice focuses on criminal and regulatory litigation.

 

Jessica has a particular interest in youth matters, including representing young people charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and assisting students through school investigations and disciplinary proceedings. Jessica has been involved in a number of initiatives to promote education on legal issues impacting young persons, has published in this area, and is presently a volunteer with Pro-Bono Ontario’s Education Law Project.

 

Prior to joining Henein Hutchison Robitaille LLP, Jessica worked as an associate at a high-volume criminal defence trial practice in Toronto. She also completed her articles as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Ontario Superior Court of Justice where she worked on a number of serious criminal matters.

 

Jessica received her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor, where she graduated as Valedictorian. During law school, she completed an internship at the International Criminal Court (Appeals Chamber) in the Netherlands after being awarded a Social Justice Fellowship. She also worked as a Research Assistant to distinguished professors, in addition to the Community Legal Aid Clinic where she represented clients on a variety of criminal and quasi-criminal matters.

 

Jessica also obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Ottawa, graduating magna cum laude with a major in criminology and a minor in law.

 

She is a member of the Hellenic Canadian Lawyers Association, Justice for Children and Youth, the Criminal Lawyers’ Association (CLA) and is an active member of CLA’s Recent Call Committee.
